Yes. Not all white people are the worst.
That statement is a generalization that came out of a knee-jerk reaction to constantly seeing similar videos of white people harassing any POC for simply existing. My white privilege has blinded me from this experience and I’m glad that people are posting their encounters online and spreading awareness.
If you are white and not racist. Cool. Then that negative generalization doesn’t apply to you.
However, not being a racist is the bare minimum of what we should be doing. We need to combat racism and call racists out so that these reports of bullshit cop calls can end.
I do still apologize to anyone who was triggered by the “white people are the worst” statement. It is not meant to offend. Just to capture a social environment in a moment of history.
Yesterday’s comic was meant to offend.
