I knew the term had been used to compare people to wolves and I remember seeing that “Adam Ruins Everything” video floating around. But I don’t hang out with a lot of guys that have insecurities about their masculinity, so I never knew that there were people out there that used the term “beta male” as an insult.
Then I got into a twitter argument on Roger Moore with a conservative and got the reply featured in the first panel.
So I looked into it.
It’s ridiculous how my privileges block this sort of toxic masculinity from my view. This subculture of lunacy fascinates me and I’m addicted to watching their videos. Insane people are entertaining when they’re safely far away from me and not involved in politics.
And then Tabby asked if I had “Been Beta”.
Which inspired this next week of strips.
