Michael Chick originally designed these two characters, the orc and the DEVIL. And they were just going to be used for this dnd art challenge thing I participated in. But then in April of 2020, I did an “Alternate Earth April” thing and used the characters to journey through a labyrinth (“Walking Redrawn Paths“) filled with allegorical gags to deal with the depressing state of life at that time.
It was a lot of fun. So I brought them back in June (“Too Many Quests“) to handle my growing anxiety with the elections later that year.
Since then, the dnd strips have absolutely helped with my mental state by creatively rethinking it as some fantasy themed allegory. Proving how therapeutic art can be.
If I ever DMed a campaign, I’m pretty sure that it would be entirely political commentary.
